traditional drinks in france

Although details are understandably incomplete, it is believed that around 6000 BC, the grape is grown and wine is being made in Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq).

Mesopotamia and Egypt
Wine was popular with the pharaohs of ancient Egypt since 3000 BC C. onwards. Inscriptions and illustrations of the crop grapes and wine have been found in a number of graves.

Many temples had vineyards attached to them and believed that wine was used for religious rituals. However, as is still true today, most Egyptians wine produced in the area of the West Nile delta.

The wine is stored in containers clay, as wooden barrels were unknown to the ancient Egyptians.

Greece
The exact date of development began in Greece is unknown. However, the remains of a stone press, dating from around 1600BC, have been found in a villa in Crete. Wine consumption in ancient Greece had strong associations with the cult of the god Dionysus. With the rise of Greek influence throughout the Mediterranean and Black Sea areas, vines were introduced to areas as distant as Spain, France, Italy and Georgia. It is believed a number of traditional grape varieties of southern Italy (eg Aglianico) were introduced by the Greeks.

Empire Romano
The Romans continued the developments started by the Greeks. The wine is exported to all parts of the Roman Empire including France, Britain and the area Rhine in Germany. Vineyards were also planted in many of these areas. The Romans documented different grape varieties and soil types that produced the highest yields. They also introduced wooden barrels and glass bottles for the wine trade, although these elements are not completely replace clay amphorae for wine storage.

During the Middle Ages, vineyards were maintained by the monasteries as a source of communion wine. These wine producers of the basis for much of the wine industry today's modern in Europe.

Since Neil Best first pondered the question, Who made the first wine anyway? he’s been recording his findings at Good Glug. This article forms part of the new and free Good Glug Wine Appreciation Mini Course. Visit now to get your copy.

Seasoning is the most important thing you can do to your wok. Only carbon steel and iron woks need to be experienced. The purpose of seasoning is to remove the manufacturer protective coating and covered with a thin layer of oil. This creates a smooth surface that allows to change cooking and slide easily, thus avoiding food from sticking, discoloring, and choose from a metallic taste.

The initial step is to wash thoroughly. Take a steel wool sponge and rub the inside and outside the wok with soap. This will remove the anti-rust coating that comes with most woks. If your new wok comes with some rust spots, do not worry. Is completely normal for dry woks to develop some minor rust. Just make sure you rub the rust before proceeding. Wash thoroughly with hot water. Then make sure to remove all the coating, set the wok on the stove, cover with water and boil for 5 to 10 minutes to dissolve the remainder. Pour water and rub the surface again with steel wool sponge and soap. New woks may cause a slight metallic taste to the first two or three dishes that are cooked in it, but after that, metallic taste will disappear.

Reminder: the steel wool scouring pad is only to be used in this initial step prior to seasoning your new wok. NOT use a rag of steel wool in a seasoned wok, EVER! He will miss all the effort put forth in seasoning your wok, and will require you to return to the season again.

Next, Place the wok on the stove over high heat. You are ready for the next step when you sprinkle a few drops of water in the wok and start to dance around the bottom. Then, roll a few sheets of paper towel, or use a piece of cloth, and dip it in cooking oil. Peanut oil and corn oil are preferred because to its high smoking point, thus minimizing the flue gas when seasoning the wok .. Naturally, light your stove ventilation will help reduce gas, too. With a pair of long wooden chopsticks or tongs, wipe the soaked paper towel over the entire inner surface of the wok. Reduce heat to low and let the wok sit for 15 minutes. This allows the wok to absorb the oil. If the surface starts to dry, then wipe the wok again with the wet paper towel. Want to get the wok a thin film of oil when experienced. The bottom of the wok should be slightly brown. Repeat the above steps two more time, and the fund must darken further. With time, everything becomes black wok (which is good). Now the wok is ready to go.

But we are nearly done. Ever wonder why Chinese restaurant dishes produce that mouth-watering aroma when served at your table? And I always wonder why you can not match the flagrant flavor when you try cook Chinese food at home? They come from cooking food in an almost impervious shiny black coating in a well-seasoned wok. That black coating is called "patina" which is essentially harmless carbon residue from cooking in a wok on high heat repeatedly. A good wok on high heat seasoned Chinese chefs taught him lovingly call "wok there. Its literal translation is "breath of wok. Wok There is so revered in Chinese culinary tradition in China, especially in the Canton region (south), when a customer is served stir fry dish without wok hay, it is considered an insult or bad luck.

It takes time, attention, and regular use before a wok develops a patina. There are no shortcuts. But in his wok patina that is not enough produce wok hay on your dishes. It is imperative that the wok is heated by fire high to the point of seeing faint smoke coming from the bottom before you add cold cooking oil. The cold cooking oil cools down the wok slightly, and makes the tenderer taste of food once it is made. If the wok is not hot enough or cold (oh!) When poured into the cooking oil, the ingredients will stick to the wok (even with the patina) and inevitably burn, also leaving the ingredients raw inside. Not to mention losing the coveted "There wok.

In Part 4, let's talk about cleaning and care of your wok.

Helen Fan grew up in a family that has owned various Asian restaurants all over North America, from Vancouver (Canada), Houston (Texas), Decatur (Illinois), to Chicago (Illinois). Airfare

If you and your family has baggage, consider flying Southwest if possible. Not only Air fares are highly competitive, but that check your bags for free!

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are the days generally less expensive to fly.

For international flights, check both the airline and you want to fly any airline based in shared code. For example, when flying from Orlando to Paris, verification, both Air France and Delta. You must be booked on the same flight, but an airline can offer a much lower price.

Check websites such as Kayak, Travelocity and Expedia for prices between all the major airlines to find the lower rate. After booking a ticket on the site of the specific airline. This can save the fee that these sites can be labeled airfare.

Hotels

Ask the concierge floor type. While it may be $ 50 or more per night, includes breakfast, usually a dinner to light and water and soft drinks. When traveling with a spouse or children, this can save a lot on food and drink.

Instead of drinking water available in your hotel room (usually $ 5 or $ 7), bottled water in a hotel gift shop or store. The bottle of water hotel room is almost always more expensive. Or, to return to their hotel after walking or running, ask the concierge to open a bottle of water (often free).

When booking a room for a weekend, go to the website of the specific property you want to stay in place to visit website of the hotel chain. The specific property often show the weekend rate that does not appear on the homepage.

Instead of ordering room service and delivery and payment of service fees, order in the restaurant, but to tell the host that you'll pick up your food when ready. This can easily save $ 5 or more per meal. Better yet, order in restaurants through local phone and pick up your food on the way to the hotel. Outback Steakhouse has a great program and advance notice of special parking places where a food service brings food to your car.

Local Transportation

Rent a car from a different location from airport if possible. Airport charges, taxes and insurance are less than non-airport sites. An order of $ 42.99/day appointment for collection at the Houston Intercontinental Airport cost 20% more in fees for a rental car at an undisclosed location airport.

Take a free hotel shuttle to your hotel, book a car for the next day to save a day's rent and pay the modest fee.

If returning your car to a different city, check companies hire different to find one with a non-stop or low charge.

Use coupons (Entertainment Books are great!) For discounted car rental rates for week or so week.

Use public transportation in cities where it is widely available. Not only it costs much less than renting a car, but it gives you a tour of the city you're visiting and exposure to parts of the city not normally travel through.

Other

For all flights, hotel stay or car rental, sign up for the award program of the company. Discounts may be sent to you and you'll be on your form of free services. If you belong to an auto club or other members of the association that provides the benefits provided for hotel, car rental, tourist attractions and discounts at local stores.

If airport charges for Wi-Fi, usually avoid the accusation of being out of a room air President (Continental Club, for example) and Wi-Fi signal is often available near the door.
